“The No campaign claims that the NHS in Scotland is safe from the privitisation and cuts agenda being pursued south of the border because the NHS is the full, and sole, responsibility of the Scottish Parliament. Now, by trumpeting this line, suggests that the No campaign is either: completely oblivious as to what Barnett Formula consequentials mean for Scotland’s ever reducing budget; or they are, perhaps more believably, attempting to mislead the Scottish people.
The UK Labour Party, going in to the 2015 General Election campaign, warns the people of England that their NHS is in crisis, on the brink of complete and utter desolation. Andy Burnham, Labour’s shadow health secretary in England, says the Tory-led government treat the NHS as ‘another utility to be broken up and privatised’. The Scottish Labour Party in this referendum campaign denies this – and shame on them for doing so.”
