As far as I am concerned, the currency issue was settled a long time ago; on independence Scotland WILL be using the pound in one way or another. But just in case you are not so sure, have a listen to Alex Salmond about the issue of currency union or no currency union.
No currency union = no share of UK national debt.
Also, take a listen at 3:25 where AS points out that between the, George Osborne (current Chancellor of the Exchequer) and Alistair Darling (previous Chancellor of the Exchequer) have between them run up the largest ever debt the UK has ever had. They are responsible for 60% of the current £1.3 trillion (million million) of UK debt (interest payments on the debt alone are £1 billion PER WEEK) and more than any previous Chancellors of the Exchequer COMBINED in the history of the UK.
And all in the last eight years.
Are we seriously expected to listen to either of these two individuals on Scotland’s economic future after doing such a bad job with the UK’s?
